Congregational Change Readiness Assessment
This assessment is built on the work of two revitalization leaders: Sam Rainer (The Church Revitalization Checklist), whose framework of low, moderate, and high resistance shapes how we describe your congregation’s readiness, and Jeff Iorg (Leading Major Change in Your Ministry), whose diagnostic questions shape what this tool measures.
This is not a test of your church, and there are no right or wrong answers. It is also not a decision about whether to lead change. For a plateaued or declining church, standing still is not a faithful option. What this tool helps you discern is not “whether” but “how ready” and “how fast.” A change that would fail today can succeed a year from now, once trust, urgency, and leadership alignment have grown. Answer about how your congregation actually is, not how you wish it were, or how you fear it might be. It takes about five to seven minutes, and your encourager will walk through the results with you.
